Ingredients for Pumpkin Latte (pumpkin spice latte) For 1 person
Pumpkin 40 gr Espresso coffee 28 ml (1 shot) Fresh milk 280 ml Maple syrup 30 ml Nutmeg powder 3 gr Cloves 3 gr Cinnamon powder 5 gr Ginger 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla extract 2 ml
How to choose good pumpkin
Depending on your preference, you can choose different types of pumpkin. Generally, you should select pumpkins that have a smooth, shiny outer skin and the flesh inside should be orange-yellow. At the same time, the more pronounced the indentation of the pumpkin, and the fewer seeds it has, the richer, sweeter, and more fragrant the flavor will be.
When holding the pumpkin, it should feel heavy and firm. Give priority to those with a stem length of about 2 – 5cm as they can be stored longer without spoiling.

-
Prepare the pumpkin
After purchasing the pumpkin, peel it and remove the seeds inside. Then, cut it into small pieces and steam it for about 10 – 15 minutes.
Finally, mash the pumpkin through a sieve and place it into the latte cup.
Tip: If you don’t have a steamer, you can soften the pumpkin by steaming it over water! -
Make the pumpkin puree mixture
Pour 30ml of maple syrup and add 3g of nutmeg, 3g of cloves, 5g of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of ginger powder, and 3 drops of vanilla extract into the cup with the mashed pumpkin.
-
Brew espresso
Put about 9g of coffee grounds into the filter of the espresso machine, then use the coffee tamper to press and gently twist the surface until it is flat and even.
Before placing the filter into the espresso machine head, run water for about 3 seconds. Press the coffee brewing button and place the cup containing the pumpkin mixture underneath to collect about 25ml (1 shot) of extracted espresso.
After that, gently stir the mixture in the cup.
Tip: If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can use brewed coffee with a phin filter as a substitute. However, latte is a beverage that originates from abroad, so they prefer espresso. Therefore, when making pumpkin latte, it is better to use espresso for a more authentic taste! -
