How to choose delicious ingredients
How to choose delicious sausages
- Sausages are usually pre-packaged, so when buying, make sure to choose sausages with clear origin, intact packaging, and remember to check the expiration date of the product.
- For sausages made in a traditional way at local crafts, make sure to buy sausages from reputable establishments, with a natural smell and carefully packaged.
- You can easily buy sausages at markets, grocery stores, supermarkets, or food shops. The product is also currently available at TasteVN, you can refer to it here.
- Additionally, if you have time and want to ensure the quality of the dish, you can make simple sausages at home using a recipe from TasteVN.
What is cheese powder? Where to buy it?
- Cheese powder is a type of dry cheese, in powder form. It has a fatty, slightly salty taste and does not differ much from the usual string or block cheeses.
- You can easily find cheese powder at supermarkets, e-commerce websites, or stores selling baking ingredients.
- When purchasing, be sure to check the origin, source, and expiration date of the product.
How to make cheese powder octopus sausage
-
Cut and boil the sausage
After purchasing the sausage, peel off the casing (if any), cut it in half, and use a knife to slice lengthwise to create the shape of an octopus (note not to cut all the way through as it will separate the parts).
Place a pan on the stove, fill it with water to cover half of the pan, then add all the cut sausages to boil on high heat for about 3 minutes, until the sausages puff up evenly, then remove and let drain.
Tip:
- To ensure the dish is successful, you should use medium or large sausages for easier cutting and less likelihood of separating.
- To prevent the sausages from collapsing, do not boil them for too long.
-
Coat the sausages with cheese
Put all the drained sausages into a bowl, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of cheese powder evenly over the sausages, and then cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
Next, shake gently, quickly so that the sausages are evenly coated with a layer of cheese powder to finish.
Tip:
- The sausages need to be drained before coating with cheese. If the sausages are still wet, they will become damp when shaken with cheese and taste less delicious.
- Depending on the amount of cheese coating on the sausages, you can continue to add cheese to the bowl and shake until the cheese powder reaches your desired thickness.
-
