How to choose good young jackfruit
- Good young jackfruit usually has a green banana leaf-like skin, fresh, and the spikes are slightly soft, not fully opened.
- You should choose balanced fruits, not dented or hard when touched.
- Avoid choosing fruits that are damaged or have many unusual black spots on the skin.

How to cook Young Jackfruit Stir-fry

Prepare and boil young jackfruit
To prevent the knife from sticking to the jackfruit sap and to make it easier to cut, dip the knife used for cutting jackfruit into cooking oil before cutting off the skin, then slice the young jackfruit flesh into rings.
Place a pot on the stove, add about 200ml of water, and bring to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil and boil the jackfruit for 30 – 40 minutes. Then, remove and drain.
Pick the leaves of the Vietnamese coriander, wash them clean, and let them drain.

Chop young jackfruit
After the boiled jackfruit has cooled, chop it into thin slices.

Stir-fry young jackfruit
Place a pan on the stove, add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, wait for the oil to heat up, then add 1 teaspoon of minced shallots and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic. Stir-fry until the shallots and garlic turn golden brown and fragrant, then add the jackfruit. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and 2 tablespoons of vegetarian seasoning and stir well, cooking for another 10 minutes.
Taste and adjust the seasoning to your family’s preference and turn off the heat.
