How to make Korean Fish Cake Soup

Prepare the ingredients
Peel the white radish, remove the head and root, wash it clean and cut into small pieces about 1/2 finger thick.
Peel the onion, wash it clean, and dice it.
Peel the garlic, crush it, and cut it into small pieces. Remove the yellow leaves and roots from the green onion, wash it clean, and cut it diagonally.
The Korean fish cake you bought is usually frozen, so you need to thaw it for about 1 hour before cooking.

Cook and filter the broth
Place a pot on the stove, add 1.2 liters of water, put all the radish, onion, garlic, dried kelp, and dried anchovies in, and boil for about 25 minutes.
Then, remove the white radish and set it aside, use a strainer to filter the broth to make it clearer and more visually appealing.

Skewering fish cake
The fish cake, once thawed, becomes soft and easier to shape. Fold the fish cake into three like a fan, then fold the length in a zigzag manner.
Use a skewer to secure it. You do the same for the remaining fish cake.

Cooking Fish Cake Soup
Place a pan on the stove, arrange the fish cakes in the pan, and add the white radish that was removed after cooking the broth. Use a ladle to pour the broth over the fish cakes until they are submerged. Turn on the stove to bring the soup to a boil, adjusting the heat to high.
Next, season with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of pepper, and 1/2 tablespoon of salt. Add sliced green onions on top.
Once the soup boils, reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for another 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, taste and adjust the seasoning to suit your family’s preferences, then turn off the stove.
