How to choose good brown rice
- You should choose black or red brown rice as these types have more nutrients than yellowish brown rice.
- In addition, you need to distinguish brown rice from blood dragon rice to avoid confusion. Brown rice will have long, slender grains, a bland taste, and if chewed well, it has a sweet flavor. In contrast, blood dragon rice, when broken, has a red interior and tastes sweet.
- Prioritize buying rice from reputable stores, carefully observing to ensure the rice is not moldy or infested, and it should feel smooth to the touch.
How to make Steamed Brown Rice Banana Cake

Roast brown rice
Rinse the brown rice thoroughly, then place it in a pan and roast it over medium heat until cooked.

Grind brown rice
Place the brown rice in a blender, then grind until it becomes a fine powder.

Mix the cake batter
Peel the bananas and cut them into small slices, then mash them with 4 tablespoons of sugar using your hands.
Next, add the ground brown rice, 2.5 tablespoons of tapioca flour, a little salt, and mix well.
Gradually pour in 300ml of water into the mixture and continue mixing.
Finally, add 1g of vanilla for fragrance to complete the mixture.
Tip:
- To create a red color for the banana cake, you can marinate the bananas with sugar overnight.
- If the batter is too thick, you can add more water; conversely, if the batter is too thin, you can add more flour.

Pour the mold and steam the cake
Grease a thin layer of cooking oil and pour the dough into the mold.
Place the cake into the steamer and steam for 45 minutes.

Cook the coconut milk
Put a pan on the stove, add 400g of coconut milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, a little salt, and 10ml of diluted cornstarch water.
Stir well until the coconut milk is warm, thick, and smooth.
