How to Make Savory Meat-Filled Glutinous Rice Balls

Sauté the filling
Heat a pan on the stove, add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, 100g minced meat, 50g carrot, 50g radish, 18g shiitake mushrooms, 15g dried shrimp, 20g oyster sauce, 10ml Mai Quế Lộ wine, 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil, a bit of salt, and a bit of sugar.
Stir well over medium heat until the ingredients are blended and cooked evenly.
Then, add 5g cornstarch, a bit of pepper, and 5g chopped green onion, stir well once more and then turn off the heat.

Mix the dough
Put 200g glutinous rice flour, a bit of sugar, a bit of salt, and 170ml warm water into a bowl. Use your hands to mix well until the dough forms a smooth and pliable ball.

Shape the balls
Take a small amount of dough, roll it into a ball, flatten it, place the filling in the center, then gather the edges of the dough and roll it into a ball.

Boil the cake
Put a pot of water on the stove, add the cake and boil until it floats to the surface of the water.
Then, add a little salt, a little seasoning, and a little sugar to finish.
Tip to recognize when the cake is cooked: You boil it until the cake floats to the top of the water, and it is done. -
Final product
Serve the cake in a bowl with the broth, sprinkle with chopped green onions and enjoy while it’s still hot!
