How to Make Rose Dumplings
-
Making the Dumpling Dough
First, prepare a large bowl, add 125gr of wheat flour, 100gr of potato starch, and 300ml of boiling water. Then use a spatula to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
Mix until the dough starts to clump, then add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, and continue mixing and kneading until the dough no longer sticks to your hands. Let the dough rest for 20 minutes, and you have completed the dough for the white rose dumplings.
If you want to make yellow roses, replace the 300ml of boiling water with 300ml of butterfly pea flower water instead! -
Roll out the dough, create flower petal molds
After letting the dough rest, place it on a large cutting board and use a rolling pin to roll it out thinly. Then, use a round cake mold to press firmly onto the rolled-out dough to prepare the flower petals for the rose dumplings.
If you don’t have a round cake mold, you can also use the rim of a glass! -
Rose-shaped dumplings
Next, stack about 4 layers of round dough on top of each other (the piece on top overlaps 1/3 of the piece below), then add the filling along the length of the dough wrapper. At this point, you just need to skillfully fold the dough in half and roll them up to have beautiful rose-shaped dumplings right away.

Steaming dumplings
You place a steamer on the stove, add about 400ml of water, and boil over high heat. When the water boils, place the dumplings you just wrapped in the top section, then reduce to medium heat and steam for about 15 – 20 minutes, until the dough wrapper becomes translucent.

Final Product
Each piece of white and bright yellow rose dumpling has a light chewy outer layer, blended with the rich meat filling inside, creating an unforgettable flavor combination when enjoyed.
Especially, adding a bowl of spicy soy sauce or simply dipping it in chili sauce also makes the dish burst with flavor and become more appealing!
Hope that with the rose dumpling recipe above, you can create a truly surprising and meaningful gift for the women you love on the upcoming 20/10! Wishing you success!
