How to Cook Pandan Leaf Porridge

  • Cook the white porridge

    First, wash the rice thoroughly, then put it into the rice cooker, add 1 liter of water, and turn on the cooking mode. When the porridge starts to boil, open the lid, stir well, and skim off the foam.

    Tip: To prevent the porridge from burning, you should stir it frequently while cooking.

  • Cut and pound pandan leaves

    Wash the pandan leaves and then cut them into small pieces and place them into a mortar, then pound them until smooth.

  • Squeeze pandan leaf juice

    Next, pour about 100 ml of water into the mortar and stir well to extract the pandan leaf juice. Then, use a strainer to filter out the juice.

    When the porridge is soft, you add 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of salt to the porridge, then stir well.

    You add 2 teaspoons of tapioca starch and 50 ml of filtered water into a bowl (rice bowl) and stir well to dissolve the starch.

    Then, you add the tapioca starch water to the pot of porridge and continue to stir the porridge for about 1 minute to complete.
