-
Marinate the squid
First, pound 100g of coarse salt, 50g of chili, 20g of seasoning powder, 10g of sugar, and add 20ml of cooking oil (or sesame oil) to make the salt mixture colorful and help the squid become more fragrant and eye-catching when grilled.
When the squid is drained, marinate it with half of the salt mixture and 10g of oyster sauce for 15 minutes.
Tip: Do not add too much sugar as it will make the squid easily burn when grilling. -
Grill the squid
Start the charcoal fire. When the charcoal is red, place the grill on and then put the marinated squid on to grill for 30 – 45 minutes depending on the thickness of the squid.
Fan the fire evenly, turn the squid every 5 minutes to avoid burning the squid’s tentacles, making them no longer delicious.

- For frozen octopuses, you should choose those with a slightly grayish-brown color; the natural color should not be too dark or too light.
- Octopus with bright white flesh and smooth, shiny skin is a freshly frozen octopus, and you can buy it.
Tips to prepare octopus without a fishy smell
