How to choose fresh ingredients

How to choose fresh aloe vera correctly

  • Choose large aloe vera branches, thick and firm, with a dark green outer skin speckled with tiny white dots and a fresh white base.
  • Opt for larger pieces as they have thick flesh and thin skin, ensuring more flesh remains when peeled.
  • Avoid buying aloe vera that is bruised, with wilted cut surfaces and leaking yellowish sticky fluid.

How to choose fresh, juicy mandarins

  • Choose mandarins that are round and evenly shaped, with a fresh, shiny green skin, and the bottom of the mandarin should have a slightly yellowish hue.
  • To make the mandarins sweeter, you should select those of medium size, that feel firm in your hand, with skin that is not too rough, and the stem end of the mandarin should have thick skin and be slightly raised.
  • Avoid choosing mandarins that are damaged, bruised, or those that are yellow and have lost their stems, as these may be fruit infested with pests from the inside.

How to make Aloe Vera Orange Juice

  • Prepare the Aloe Vera

Wash the Aloe Vera briefly with water. Then, use a knife to trim the edges and cut the Aloe Vera into pieces about the length of a finger.

Next, peel one side of the Aloe Vera piece, use a spoon to carefully scoop out the flesh, and then chop it into small cubes.

Put the Aloe Vera into a bowl and gently massage it with a mixture of lemon juice and a little salt for 1-2 minutes, then rinse it well with water and drain.

How to prepare Aloe Vera without bitterness or sliminess

    • Method 1: Use 1 tablespoon of coarse salt, squeeze the juice from 1/2 lemon into a large bowl, and mix well. Then, soak the diced Aloe Vera in the bowl for about 1 hour, then remove and rinse thoroughly with water and drain.
    • Method 2: Place diced Aloe Vera in a small bowl with 1 tablespoon of coarse salt and mix well. Next, rinse the Aloe Vera under running water and drain. Then, put the Aloe Vera into a pot of boiling water on the stove, blanch for about 15 seconds, then remove and place in a bowl of cold water. Finally, drain and you can continue to process it.
