How to cook Green Bean Stuffed Dumplings
-
Mix the dough and knead it
Combine all-purpose flour, glutinous rice flour, rice flour, and sugar with 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1/3 teaspoon of salt, and 4 tablespoons of cooking oil, then mix well with 150 ml of warm water and stir thoroughly.
Put on gloves and knead the dough until it forms a smooth, pliable mass. Once the dough is smooth, place it in a tightly sealed bag and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Tip:
Apply a little cooking oil on your gloves to prevent sticking while mixing the dough.
-
Boil the green beans and make the filling
Wash the green beans thoroughly with water, then place them in a pot and add just enough water to boil them. Cook the green beans for about 20 minutes until they are done.
While the green beans are still hot, add a little salt, a bit of cooking oil, and a teaspoon of sugar, then mix well, mash until smooth to make the filling.
Tip:
When the water boils, you should skim off the foam to avoid any unpleasant smell in the green beans.
-
Shape the cake
Place the fermented dough on a flat surface and roll it out to about 5mm thick, then cut the dough into round pieces.
Add the green bean filling in the center and pinch both ends of the cake together. Fold the edges of the cake to create a rope-like shape.
Tip:
To prevent the dough from sticking while rolling, you can apply a little cooking oil on the surface of the dough and the rolling tool.
-
Fry the Cake
Add oil to the pan and wait until the oil is really hot, then add the cakes to fry over medium heat.
When frying, turn the cakes to ensure they are evenly golden; at this point, increase the heat to high so that the cakes do not absorb too much oil and become crispier.
-
Final Product
The finished green bean cake has an attractive golden color, a crispy outer layer, and a visually appealing and delicious green bean filling.
