How to choose a good pineapple
- Color: you should choose pineapples that are bright yellow from the stem to the tail, there may be a few eyes that are slightly green but it will still have a certain sweetness.
- Shape: Round and short pineapples will have more flesh compared to long-shaped ones.
- Pineapple eyes: Choose pineapples with large, sparse eyes as this indicates that the pineapple is mature and ripened naturally without being soaked in chemicals.
- Aroma: you can try smelling the end of the fruit; if there is a fragrant smell, you should buy it. Additionally, avoid those that have a slightly sour, fermented smell as that indicates the pineapple is overripe.
- The crown of the pineapple: The greener the crown, the fresher the pineapple. Overripe pineapples will have a dry or brown crown.
- Touch: A good, fresh pineapple will not be too hard or too soft; when you press your finger into it, there should be no indentation.
