How to Choose Good Mung Beans, Not Defective
- The mung beans used for the dessert should be peeled. For peeled mung beans, note to choose those that are shiny, bright yellow, and have uniform size and color.
- You can check the firmness of the beans by pressing your finger into a bean; if it is crunchy and breaks easily without creating many small crumbs, then it is good mung bean.
- Fresh mung beans usually have a light fragrant smell that is characteristic of mung beans. Avoid choosing beans that have a musty smell or any strange odors.
- Avoid selecting beans that have black spots, dull colors, or uneven sizes. Especially do not choose mung beans that show signs of being eaten by pests or have many black stones.
Where to buy dried pomelo pulp?
- You can find dried pomelo pulp at dry goods stalls, ingredients for making sweet soups at traditional markets, or order online from reputable e-commerce sites.
- When buying, you should pay attention to whether the pomelo pulp is still white or has turned yellow and has dark spots, choose pomelo pulp that is still soft and pliable when squeezed, not crumbly or hard.
