How to make Steamed Purple Yam Cake

  • Prepare purple yam

    Peel the purple yam, wash it thoroughly, and cut it into slices.

    Next, place the purple yam in a steamer, cover tightly, and steam for 20 minutes.

  • Mix the cake batter

    After 20 minutes, take the yam out into a bowl and use a fork to mash it smoothly while it’s still hot.

    Next, add 100g of glutinous rice flour, 50g of rice flour, and 180ml of fresh milk to the bowl, and mix well until the mixture is combined.

    Then, add 50g of sugar, a pinch of salt, 3 tablespoons of condensed milk, 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, and 1 vial of vanilla. Continue mixing until you have a thick mixture.

    Tip: If the batter is too thick, you can add a little more fresh milk!
