How to choose fresh ripe mangoes
- Choose ripe, golden mangoes that feel firm to the touch, with smooth and shiny skin. When pressed gently, you should feel the firmness of the mango flesh; it should not be soft or bruised, as these are signs of good ripe mangoes.
- Avoid purchasing mangoes that have dark spots or those that look overly appealing on the outside.
- In reality, not all ripe mangoes are yellow, and not all mangoes that are not fragrant are unripe. Therefore, you should also consider to choose the mangoes that you prefer.
How to choose delicious, juicy pomelo
- When buying, you should choose pomelo fruits with shiny, firm, yellowish skin. When held, they should feel heavy, and the skin should still be fresh, not dry.
- Ripe pomelos often have small stems, flat bottoms, and evenly large spines.
- In addition, you should prioritize choosing fruits that, when you flick the skin with your finger, make a “pop pop” sound, feeling juicy rather than hollow and spongy.
- Avoid choosing pomelo fruits with small, thick spines, as this indicates that the pomelo is still immature, and the segments are smaller and more sour.
