Dried seaweed 100 gr Minced pork 300 gr Shallots 2 bulbs Green onions/cilantro 2 sprigs Cooking oil 2 tablespoons Common seasoning a little (salt/sugar/msg/seasoning powder/pepper)

How to choose good pork

  • Choose meat that has a dry membrane, bright red color, slightly firm surface, and tender texture.
  • It is advisable to buy parts of meat that have both lean and fat, the best being the belly part.
  • The meat should not have any strange smell, and should feel elastic when touched.
Note: You can choose to buy minced pork already prepared or buy whole pork and mince it yourself at home using a meat grinder.

How to make Seaweed Soup with Minced Meat

  • Prepare the ingredients

    Put the seaweed in a bowl of cold water and soak for 20 – 30 minutes until the seaweed fully expands.

    Finely slice the shallots to fry evenly and turn golden. Chop the green onions and coriander.

  • Sauté the minced meat

    Place a pot on the stove, add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, and when the oil is hot, add the finely sliced shallots to fry until fragrant, then add the prepared minced meat and sauté for 3 – 5 minutes until the meat is firm.

    After the meat is firm, immediately add 1 tablespoon of seasoning, a little ground pepper, and about 1 liter of boiling water into the pot.

    Boil for 3 – 5 minutes, then add all the prepared seaweed to the pot, continue to boil for another 3 – 5 minutes, until the soup boils again, then season to taste, stir well, turn off the heat, and serve in a bowl.

  • When choosing pork ribs, select pieces that have a pink meat color, are firm to the touch, and have no strange smell.
  • Choose ribs with flat and small bones, as these usually have less bone and more meat.
  • It is advisable to select ribs that have both lean meat and fat to avoid dryness and blandness when eating.

How to prepare Seaweed Soup with Pork Ribs

  • Prepare the pork ribs

    Prepare about 1 liter of cold water, add a few slices of fresh ginger. Put the prepared seaweed in and soak for 20 – 30 minutes until the seaweed expands evenly.
