How to choose fresh and delicious ingredients
How to choose fresh strawberries
- Good strawberries will have a characteristic fragrant smell; on the contrary, those with only a faint scent may have been sprayed with many chemicals during cultivation.
- Quality strawberries usually have a bright red color and are juicy. Those with a dark red color are likely to have been mixed with lower-quality fruits by the seller. Do not buy fruits with green spots, as strawberries will not continue to ripen once picked like other types of fruit.
- Be cautious of overly juicy fruits that are too large, as they may be filled with water inside. If there are black spots, it means they are starting to rot.
- It is advisable to choose fruits that still have their stems and leaves intact. If the stem has dried or turned yellow, these strawberries have likely been on the shelf for a few days and are not fresh.
How to choose delicious oats
- You should choose whole oats, which are usually unprocessed and not broken.
- You should buy oats from reputable places and well-known brands with trustworthy origins.

How to make Strawberry Oatmeal Porridge
-
Prepare the strawberries
Soak the strawberries in diluted salt water for about 10 minutes, then rinse with clean water, remove the stems, and cut the strawberries in half or into quarters.
-
Sauté the strawberries
Place a pot on the stove, add the strawberries (set aside a few for decoration later), and cook over medium heat, adding 20 grams of sugar and stirring well. If you notice the strawberries are getting scorched, you can add a little water.
Sauté the strawberries over low heat for about 3 – 4 minutes, then turn off the heat.
-
Cook the oatmeal
You put a pot on the stove, add 500 ml of unsweetened fresh milk to boil, then add the oatmeal and cook for about 5 minutes on low heat until the oatmeal expands and becomes soft (if you find the oatmeal porridge too thick, you can add a little water if you like).
-
Completion
Then you add the blended strawberry mixture to the pot, add 10 grams of cinnamon powder to enhance the aroma, and add a little maple syrup. You gently stir the mixture to combine and then turn off the heat.
You serve the porridge in a bowl, add a few slices of strawberries on top, and sprinkle with dried coconut and almonds.
-
Finished Product
The strawberry oatmeal can be enjoyed hot or cold, both are delicious, with the fragrant creaminess of fresh milk combined with the tartness of strawberries, dry coconut, and crunchy almond bits that are rich and delightful, very tasty, right? You should invite your family to enjoy it together.
Notes when cooking strawberry oatmeal
- Oatmeal is rich in nutrients and fiber, which helps you feel full for a long time. To lose weight, you should combine it with exercise, drink plenty of water, or consult a diet from a specialist or doctor!
- You should choose rolled oats, not finely ground oats, as they can be unappetizing.
- You should adjust the amount of water when cooking oatmeal to avoid the porridge being too watery or too thick.
- For rolled oats, the ratio is 1 part oats to 5 parts water.
- For instant oats, also known as broken oats, the recommended ratio is 1 part oats to 2 parts water.
