Ingredients for Cooking Delicious, Fragrant, Sticky Rice with an Induction Cooker For 4 people

Clean water 429 gr (2 cups) White rice 400 gr (2 bowls)

Tools Required

Selecting the Right Cooking Pot

To cook rice using an induction cooker, you need to prepare a non-stick pot with a magnetic base. You should choose a pot with a transparent glass lid for easy observation during cooking. Especially, opt for a pot lid that has a small vent.

Note When Cooking Rice with an Induction Cooker

  • To ensure that the rice is cooked sticky, fragrant, and convenient, you should use the rice cooking or keep warm mode available on the induction cooker.
  • During the cooking process, absolutely do not open the lid too many times as it will lose heat, making the rice undercooked or unevenly cooked.
  • When you see the rice boiling and the water gradually evaporating, you should lower the temperature gradually or switch to the keep warm mode of the cooker to avoid burning the pot or having rice stuck to the pot that is difficult to clean.

How to Cook Delicious Fragrant Sticky Rice with an Induction Cooker

  • Rinse the Rice

First, take 400 grams of white rice and place it in a strainer, then rinse it under clean water and let it drain. After that, pour the rice into the pot.

Next, add 2 cups of clean water to the pot, ensuring a ratio of 1 (rice) to 1.5 (water) is appropriate, and stir well so that the rice grains are submerged in water and evenly distributed at the bottom of the pot.

  • Lower the Temperature

When the water starts to boil, adjust the stove to reduce the temperature to prevent the rice from boiling over and spilling onto the stove surface.

After the rice has been boiling for 1 to 2 minutes, use chopsticks to stir it gently so that the rice grains heat up and cook evenly from the inside out. Then, cover the pot and reduce the heat to low for 5 to 10 minutes.

  • Keep warm for 5 – 10 minutes

After 5 – 10 minutes of cooking, the water in the pot will evaporate, and you will see a strong stream of steam escaping from the pot through the glass lid. At the same time, bubbles may appear and gradually decrease in quantity.

After 10 minutes, when you notice that the steam has reduced and the water on the surface of the rice is gradually evaporating, making the rice grains visible, you should open the lid to stir the rice pot once more, mixing it well.

Next, close the lid again and adjust the induction stove to the keep warm setting or the lowest temperature for about 5 minutes.

After the warming time, check to see if the rice is cooked and sticky, then you can turn off the stove.
