How to Choose Fresh, Delicious Green Tea Leaves
- Choose small, evenly dark green leaves that look appealing. Select leaves with older tips and many mid-aged leaves (not too old and not too young).
- Avoid choosing older leaves as the brewed tea will be bitter.
- Avoid purchasing leaves that have unusual speckles or are damaged to ensure health safety.
How to make Honey Green Tea
-
Boil fresh green tea water
Fresh green tea leaves after purchasing should be processed by removing any damaged or old leaves, rinsing thoroughly with water to clean off dirt, and then letting them drain.
Boil 1 liter of water, then turn off the stove and add the cleaned tea leaves into the pot, cover it and steep for 3 minutes, then remove the tea leaves and discard the water. This method helps to reduce the bitter taste of green tea, enhancing its delicious flavor and making it easier to drink.
Continue to boil another liter of water, wait for it to boil completely and then add the tea to cook for 5 minutes, after which turn off the heat and let the tea steep for an additional 20 minutes before removing the tea leaves.
Note: Remember to keep the lid on the pot during the cooking process to retain the rich natural aroma of the tea. -
Make green tea with honey
After removing all the tea leaves, add 100g of rock sugar to the pot and stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
Next, wait for the tea to cool completely, then squeeze the juice of 4 calamondins to create a sour taste. If you don’t want it to be sour, you can skip the calamondins.
Finally, add 10ml of honey and stir well until the honey is completely dissolved.
Tip: Avoid squeezing calamondins into the tea while it is still hot as it will make the tea taste bitter and not delicious. -
Final product
Green tea with honey retains a refreshing, delicious taste whether served hot or cold.
The slightly bitter astringency of the tea combined with the sourness of the calamondin and the natural sweetness of honey makes it a refreshing drink that is very good for your health!
