How to choose good young sticky rice
- Shape: Choose young sticky rice that is firm, thin, and flat.
- Taste: Good young sticky rice has the aroma of young rice and when eaten, it is chewy with a sweet, nutty flavor.
- Do not choose young sticky rice that is dark green and fresh-looking as it may be dyed.
- Also, avoid young sticky rice that shows signs of mold, sliminess, and check that the packaging is intact with a long shelf life.
How to prepare Sweet Soup with Young Sticky Rice

Blend pandan leaves
Wash the pandan leaves, cut them into pieces, and blend them with 100ml of water.
Next, strain the pandan leaf mixture through a sieve to extract the juice.

Cook pineapple water
Add 50g of sugar into a bowl of pandan leaf juice and stir well until the sugar dissolves.
Next, dilute 2 tablespoons of tapioca flour with about 100ml of water in another bowl.
Place a pan on the stove, add the mixture of pandan juice that has been sweetened, and 150ml of water, stirring over medium heat until the mixture lightly boils, then reduce the heat.
Then, add the tapioca water into the pan and continue to stir until the mixture simmers for about 5 minutes over medium heat.
Note:- Remember to skim off the white foam from the surface of the mixture.
- Remember to pour the tapioca water slowly; if the pandan water mixture has reached the desired thickness, stop!

Cook the dessert
Add the com into the pan containing the cooked pineapple mixture from step 2, then stir until the dessert boils again and the com becomes soft and chewy, adjust the sweetness to taste, then turn off the heat.

Serve the dessert in bowls, sprinkle with a little grated coconut to enjoy.
