How to choose good fresh sticky rice
- If you don’t have fresh sticky rice, you can also use dry sticky rice to make this coconut milk green sticky rice sweet soup!
- You should choose sticky rice grains that are bright green with a golden hue, flat and thin grains that look firm.
- Good sticky rice has a faint natural aroma, and when tasted, you will feel the chewy texture and sweet, nutty flavor of young rice.
- You should avoid buying sticky rice that is too dark or too bright in color, as that indicates it has been dyed.
- Do not buy sticky rice that shows signs of mold, has water leakage, or has an unusual smell, as this indicates old sticky rice that has spoiled and will affect health and the flavor of the dish.
How to make Green Bean Dessert with Coconut Milk

Rinse the green beans
First, to wash away the dirt, you need to prepare a large bowl of water, pour 400g of green beans into a strainer and then immerse the strainer in the bowl to rinse the green beans for about 3 minutes.
Note: You should not rinse the green beans for too long to avoid making the beans soft, which can easily crumble and break when cooked. -
Cooking Green Rice Pudding
Place a pot with 1 liter of water on the stove and turn on high heat. When the water boils, add 200g of brown sugar and all the pre-prepared green rice, using a chopsticks to stir gently so the green rice does not break, while reducing the heat to medium to cook the green rice pudding for about 10 minutes.
Remember to check the pot of green rice pudding frequently; when the green rice starts to expand, reduce the heat to low to cook the pudding for another 10 minutes until the green rice is soft and reaches the desired texture.
While cooking the green rice, dissolve 100g of tapioca flour in 100ml of water, using a spoon to stir well until the flour is completely dissolved.
Then, pour the tapioca flour mixture into the pot of cooking green rice, pouring while stirring evenly; the pudding will quickly thicken. Cook for another 3 minutes to ensure the tapioca flour mixture is cooked, and when the pudding reaches a thick, sticky consistency, turn off the heat.
Note: To prevent the pudding from being too sweet, you can add a little salt to the pot! -
Cook coconut milk
Next, mix 70ml of coconut milk and 1 tablespoon of creamer powder, using chopsticks to stir well until the powder dissolves, then place it on the stove. Turn on low heat and continuously stir until the coconut milk mixture thickens.
Tip: If you don’t have creamer powder, you can substitute it with tapioca starch! -
Completion
Serve the che com and coconut milk into a bowl and cup to cool down.
