How to choose fresh ingredients
How to choose quality pork leg
- You can choose to buy either the front or rear pork leg; the front leg has less meat but is tender, while the rear leg has more meat.
- It is advisable to choose pork legs with bright red-pink meat, firm texture, and when pressed, it should have a good bounce.
- If the meat has a fishy smell, is slimy, do not buy it under any circumstances.
How to choose carrots correctly
- You should choose carrots that are bright, deep orange, of moderate size, slightly firm, and feel solid in hand.
- If the carrot is too large, with thick leaves and stems at the base and shoulders, it should not be chosen as these are older carrots, which will have more fibers and less nutrients.
- If you press it and it feels soft, has bruises, or the stem is wilted, do not buy it under any circumstances.
