Ingredients for Coconut Water Stewed Tuna Serves 2 people

Tuna 400 gr Coconut water 300 ml Chili powder 1 teaspoon Cooking oil 1 tablespoon Common seasoning a little (Salt/ sugar/ seasoning powder/ monosodium glutamate/ ground pepper)

Product Information

  • You can use 1-liter Dong Hwa Tucbeghi clay pot for cooking fish. The pot has a capacity of 1 liter, a size of 16cm, and can be used to cook various dishes, suitable for a family of 1 – 2 members.
  • The pot is made of high-quality ceramic with high durability, 5.59mm thick, which helps retain heat for a long time, making it easy to cook and clean after use.
  • The product has a glass lid, allowing users to easily observe the cooking status of the food.

How to Choose Fresh Tuna

  • You should choose fish with shiny, clear eyes, where the pupil is visible inside. Avoid buying those with sunken eyes as this indicates the fish has been frozen for a long time or transported too much, and the meat will not be fresh.
  • Before buying, you should check the fish carefully. Fresh tuna has bright red gills, and when you press your finger on the skin, especially the belly, it should have good elasticity and not sink in.
  • You should not buy fish with dark red or black gills as this indicates spoiled fish. Also, avoid buying if a sample of the meat rubbed against your palm produces a lot of moisture and the meat is soft and flaky.

How to Cook Coconut Water Braised Tuna

  • Prepare Ingredients

    After purchasing the tuna, clean it, remove the internal organs, and clean the scales, then use a knife to cut the fish into thick slices about the thickness of a finger, then wash away the fish blood.

    Next, rinse the fish with diluted salt water to remove the fishy smell, then rinse again with fresh water a few times.

  • Marinate the fish

    Put the cleaned fish into a clay pot and marinate the fish with 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of fish sauce, 1 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate, a little ground pepper, and 1 teaspoon of chili powder, 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.

    Mix the fish and spices well and marinate for about 10 minutes for the fish to absorb the flavors.

    Tip: You can replace chili powder with fresh chili!

  • Making coconut braised tuna

    After marinating the fish, you place the tuna pot on the stove and cook on low heat for about 5 – 7 minutes until the fish simmers lightly.

    Next, you add 300ml of coconut water to just cover the fish and braise over medium heat.

    When the coconut water reduces to 2/3, you season the dish once more to taste, then turn off the heat.
