How to prepare Snakehead Fish Porridge with Water Spinach

Prepare the ingredients
After purchasing, wash the snakehead fish clean, rub it with salt and gently massage the fish for about 2 – 3 minutes, then rinse with clean water several times and let it drain.
Pick the leaves of the water spinach, wash them clean, then let them drain. After that, chop them into small pieces.
How to clean snakehead fish without a fishy smell
- Method 1: Soak the fish in a mixture of 2 tablespoons of lemon juice (or vinegar) with 1 bowl of warm water for 3 – 5 minutes, then rinse it thoroughly with water.
- Method 2: Take a bit of lime and rub it on the fish’s skin, then use banana leaves to scrub vigorously; the fishy slime will come off with the banana leaves, while also eliminating the fishy odor.
- Method 3: Marinate the cleaned fish with a little white wine for 2 – 3 minutes, then rinse with clean water and let it drain.

Boil and shred the fish
Place a pot on the stove, add the fish with a little clean water so that the water completely covers the fish. Then add a few slices of ginger and boil the fish over medium heat.
