How to choose fresh and delicious pig tails

  • You should choose long pig tails with lots of skin, bright color, and a rosy appearance.

  • Press with your hand to feel firmness, without any foul smell.

  • Avoid buying very small pig tails as they will have less meat and skin, making them less tasty.

How to choose fresh and delicious onions

  • It’s best to select round onions with firm, smooth skin, free from dark spots and tightly hugging the bulb inside.

  • Fresh onions will have long roots, their flavor will be better, and they will last longer.

  • Avoid purchasing bulbs that have sprouted, have rough skin, uneven color, and no roots left, as these will not be fresh and may taste bitter.

How to choose fragrant and quality herbal medicine

  • If you buy packaged herbal medicine, pay attention to the packaging, expiration date, and clear origin to avoid buying expired products.

  • For unpackaged herbal medicine, it should have a characteristic fragrance, feel dry to the touch, and show no signs of moisture or mold.

  • You can buy one portion of herbal medicine to cook this dish at traditional medicine stores to ensure quality. The price of a portion of herbal medicine ranges from 50,000 – 100,000 VND/ 200gr.
