    To save time on preparation, you should buy fish that have already been cleaned, with all the innards removed and cut in half beforehand.

    Then, when you get home, you can remove the fishy smell by washing the fish with diluted saltwater, then rinse it 2 – 3 times with clean water and let it drain.

    Wash the tomatoes, remove the stem, and cut them into wedges.

  • Marinate the fish

    You put the fish in a bowl and marinate it with about 1/2 tablespoon of fish sauce, chopped white onion, and stir evenly, then let it marinate for about 30 minutes for the fish to absorb the seasoning.

  • Cook the soup

    You place a pot on the stove and add 2 bowls of filtered water (rice bowls), then bring to a boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, add the tomatoes and pineapple and cook until the water boils again.

    Next, add the fish to the pot and season with 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of monosodium glutamate, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 chili pepper, then cook for about 5 – 7 minutes until the fish is cooked.

    Finally, taste the seasoning to adjust to your preference, then add chopped green onions and coriander before turning off the stove.

    You pour the soup into a bowl, and that’s it, you have completed the delicious fish soup with pineapple. The soup has the natural sweet taste of the fish, along with the slight sourness of the tomatoes and a very light flavor.
