How to choose good sugarcane for making corn silk tea

  • Sugarcane is a type of perennial grass with a shape similar to regular sugarcane. Additionally, the stalks of sugarcane will have many joints, often green, yellow, or light yellow and are weaker than regular sugarcane, but both types have a natural sweetness.
  • To buy good sugarcane, you should choose stalks that are straight and have an even color, avoiding those with many cracks and rot to ensure quality.
  • On the other hand, if you buy pre-peeled sugarcane, when observing, if the sugarcane has a dark yellow color, it will yield more juice and be sweeter. If the sugarcane is too green, it means it is still young, so it will have a lower sweetness.

  • Plantago, also known as Plantago asiatica, and has the scientific name Plantago asiatica L, is a type of perennial herb. For a long time, Plantago has been one of the popular folk remedies in Vietnam.
  • Plantago is very easy to recognize, with leaves shaped like spoons or eggs, having veins that curve along the leaf spine.
  • Plantago has very good heat-clearing effects, so it is often steeped with some other herbs to make a drink.
