Dark chocolate 100 gr (optional type) Milo powder 3 packets Condensed milk 80 gr Unsweetened fresh milk 440 ml Sweetened yogurt 200 ml (2 cups) Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon Roasted peanuts 20 gr (crushed) Salt a pinch

How to choose good chocolate for making ice cream

  • When buying chocolate, you can choose based on brand or sweetness level that you prefer.
  • However, when making ice cream, you should opt for dark chocolate as it is healthier and typically has a blend of slightly strong, sweet, and a hint of bitterness.
  • You can buy chocolate at grocery stores, food shops, or reputable supermarkets. Note that you should not buy chocolate that shows signs of melting or is past its expiration date.

How to make Chocolate Ice Cream without whipping cream (fresh milk ice cream)

  • Cook the milk chocolate mixture

    Add 3 packets of milo into the pot along with 100g of dark chocolate, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/6 teaspoon of salt.

    Next, add 80g of condensed milk and 440ml of unsweetened fresh milk into the chocolate mixture.

    Finally, place the pot on the stove and cook on low heat, stirring continuously with a ladle for about 7 – 10 minutes until the chocolate completely melts and the milk is cooked, then turn off the heat and let it cool.

    Tip: To make the chocolate ice cream more flavorful, you can replace the milo powder with cocoa powder!

  • Stir milk chocolate with yogurt and peanuts

    Add 200ml (2 cups) of sweetened yogurt to the cooled chocolate mixture and then add 20g of crushed peanuts, stirring well until the mixture is completely combined.

  • Pour into molds and freeze

    Pour the milk chocolate mixture into popsicle molds and then place them in the refrigerator for 5 – 6 hours until the ice cream is completely frozen and ready to enjoy.
