How to choose fresh and delicious ingredients
How to choose fresh melons
- Choose melons that are green, with clear stripes, and have a light, pleasant aroma like watermelon.
- To know if the melon is ripe, hold it close to your ear and shake it gently. If you hear a sound from inside the melon, it is ripe and can be eaten immediately.
- Avoid choosing melons that have a blackened skin or signs of bruising.
How to choose fresh and delicious strawberries
- Choose strawberries that are bright red, evenly colored, plump, and have a mild, characteristic sweet smell when sniffed.
- It’s best to select those with fresh green caps tightly attached to the fruit. Avoid buying fruits with yellowing skin, especially those that have lost their caps, as they may not be fresh anymore.
- Additionally, you should choose fruits with sparse seeds, with a good distance between the seeds.

-
Prepare the melon
Peel the melon and remove the seeds, then cut it into bite-sized pieces.
The strawberries you purchased should be washed clean with water and allowed to drain. Next, use a knife to slice them into thin pieces.
-
Make the sauce to drizzle over the dessert
In a small bowl, add 60ml of fresh milk, 10ml of plant-based cream, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 4 teaspoons of condensed milk, then stir well until the mixture is completely dissolved.
Tip: To make the dessert richer, you can add a bit of plant-based cream to the sauce mixture. -
Making grass jelly
Dissolve 4 teaspoons of grass jelly powder in 100ml of water and stir well until the powder is completely dissolved. Then, pour the entire grass jelly mixture into a tray. Next, add another 150ml of water into the tray and stir well.
Place a pot on the stove, add the grass jelly mixture into the pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir continuously while cooking until the mixture thickens and boils, then turn off the heat and pour it out into the tray to cool.
Tip: You can adjust the softness of the grass jelly by changing the amount of water added. -
Soak and boil sago
Put 3 tablespoons of sago flour and 150ml of water into a small bowl and soak for 10 – 15 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine 100ml of water and 4 tablespoons of syrup, then stir well.
Place a pot on the stove, add 500ml of water, and bring to a boil. When the water boils, add the sago and boil until the sago turns a slightly cloudy gray, then turn off the heat, remove it, and add the sago to the bowl containing the syrup mixture.

Completion
When the jelly has set, cut it into bite-sized pieces.
