All-purpose flour No. 11 240 gr Unsalted butter 130 gr (chilled) Baking powder 1 teaspoon (leavening agent) Powdered sugar 75 gr Unsweetened milk 45 ml Salt 1/4 teaspoon

  • All-purpose flour No. 11, also known as All Purpose Flour, has a gluten content of 9.5 – 11.5 and high moisture.
  • Due to its high gluten content, this type of flour is often kneaded well to make bread, helping the finished product create a soft and chewy texture, or used in mixes for making fluffy cakes with a dense structure like muffins, cupcakes, etc.
  • All-purpose flour No. 11 is widely available and can be easily found at markets, supermarkets, or stores selling baking ingredients.

How to Make Cosy Butter Milk Cookies

  • Mix the cookie dough

    Sift 240g of all-purpose flour, 75g of powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder into a bowl and mix well.

    Next, add 130g of cold unsalted butter and use your hands to mix and crush until the dough is crumbly and smooth.

    Then, add 45ml of unsweetened fresh milk to the dough and use a spatula to mix well until the ingredients stick together.

  • Kneading and resting the dough

    Use your hands to knead the dough until it forms a soft, smooth, and elastic mixture that sticks together in a ball.

    Then, wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap, use a rolling pin to flatten the dough into a rectangular shape, and place the dough in the freezer fridge for 20 minutes.

    Take the dough out of the wrap, then place it between two sheets of parchment paper.

    Next, use a rolling pin to flatten the dough and then use a round cutter to cut out the cookies. For the leftover dough, knead it again, roll it out, and continue cutting cookies.
