How to Make Coconut Coffee Jelly

  • Brewing Coffee

    You rinse the coffee filter with boiling water for about 2 minutes, then add 50g of ground coffee to the filter and place the filter on the mouth of a cup.

    Next, pour about 2ml of boiling water and let the coffee brew for 2 minutes. Then pour boiling water to fill the filter and wait about 10 – 15 minutes for the coffee extract to drip into the cup.

    Add 3 tablespoons of condensed milk to the cup and stir the mixture until well combined.

    Tip:

    • You can use any type of instant coffee instead of ground coffee.
    • If you don’t like milk coffee, you can make black coffee, substituting sugar for milk to sweeten the coffee.

  • Making Agar Jelly

    Put 25gr of agar powder, 100gr of granulated sugar into a bowl and mix well.

    Place a pot on the stove, add 2 liters of water and bring to a boil. When the water is boiling, pour the agar mixture you mixed with sugar into it while using a ladle to stir until the agar is completely dissolved.

    Next, add another 100gr of granulated sugar and 1 tube of vanilla, stir until dissolved, then reduce the heat to the lowest setting and simmer.

    Tip:

    • This recipe will result in agar that is not too sweet, so if you prefer a sweeter taste, you can adjust the amount of sugar to your liking.
    • You can replace the water with fresh coconut water for a delicious alternative.

  • Mixing jelly and pouring into molds

    Prepare 2 bowls: 1 bowl containing coffee extract and 1 bowl containing 100ml of coconut milk. In each bowl, pour in 500ml of the jelly water that has been cooked on the stove and stir well.

    Prepare a mold to place in the bowl of cold ice water, then use a ladle to scoop the clear jelly water into the mold one by one.

    When the surface of the jelly has slightly set, use the ladle to scoop a portion of the coffee milk jelly and spread it evenly over the surface of the clear jelly.

    Next, when the surface of the coffee milk jelly has slightly set, pour the coconut jelly on top.

    Continue until all the prepared jelly is used up, then place the mold in the fridge for about 15 minutes to enjoy.

    Note:

    • You can create layers according to your preference.
    • When the surface of the jelly has just slightly set, continue to add the next jelly layer. If you let the jelly set too much, it will easily separate.
    • When mixing the coffee milk jelly, you should taste it to ensure it is just right to avoid the coffee jelly being too bitter. If it’s bitter, just add more jelly water to dilute it.
    • During the cooking process of the jelly, remember to stir frequently with the ladle to prevent the jelly from setting.
