Ingredients for Corn Syrup For about 400ml

Cornstarch 2 tablespoons Lime 1/2 fruit Sugar 980 gr Salt 1/4 teaspoon

How to make Corn Syrup

  • Cook corn flour with sugar

    Put 600ml of water and 2 spoons of corn flour into a pot, place it on the stove and cook over medium heat, then add 980gr of sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves, adding 1/4 teaspoon of salt. While cooking, stir for about 10 minutes until it boils.

  • Cook corn syrup

    Squeeze 1/2 lemon into the corn syrup pot (remove the lemon seeds), stir well and continue to cook on low heat for another 10 minutes until you see the liquid slightly thickened, then turn off the heat to cool.

    Continue to place the corn syrup pot back on the stove and cook for another 2 – 3 minutes over medium heat, and you’re done.

    Wait for the corn syrup to cool and it can be used right away.

How to store corn syrup

  • After cooking the corn syrup, you should let it cool completely and store it in a tightly sealed glass bottle/jar in the refrigerator. This method can preserve the syrup for 1 month!
  • Note when using glass bottles/jars for storage, you should ensure the bottle is very clean by washing it with water and then briefly scalding it with boiling water to disinfect it.
