  • When selecting shrimp, you should choose fresh shrimp with a transparent shell, slightly smelling of seawater but not fishy, and avoid shrimp with dark patches or inconsistent colors.
  • Fresh shrimp that are not chemically treated have slightly curved, firm bodies but are not unusually plump, the shell joints on the body are flexible, not detached, the head and body of the shrimp are tightly connected, and the head does not fall off.
  • You can buy fresh shrimp at stores that specialize in fresh food, supermarkets, or reputable e-commerce sites like TasteVN to ensure the quality of the dish.
  • Avoid buying shrimp whose legs have turned black or where the legs are no longer firmly attached to the body, as this indicates that the shrimp is no longer fresh.

How to choose fresh and delicious pork

  • Good pork will have a light pink, bright lean part while the fat part is translucent white. The piece of meat has a distinctive aroma of pork.
  • You can test the freshness of the meat by pressing on it; fresh meat will have high elasticity when pressed.
  • You should not buy meat that is dark in color or has many blood spots. Additionally, you should absolutely not buy pork that has an unpleasant smell or feels slimy to the touch, as that meat is spoiled and will not be good for health when cooked into a dish.

Where to buy wonton wrappers?

  • Choose fresh wonton wrappers so that they do not break when wrapping, and have a naturally chewy softness when cooked.
  • You can find wonton wrappers at markets, supermarkets, or on e-commerce websites. When buying, remember to check the production date and see if the wrappers are moldy!
  • Avoid choosing wonton wrappers that are too dry on the surface or cracked, as they will tear when wrapping and cooking, causing the filling to burst out.
  • Additionally, you can make wonton wrappers at home with a simple recipe from TasteVN.
