  • Choose basa fish fillets that have a bright pink color and a mix of fat and meat.
  • Fresh basa fish fillets are usually firm, with small muscle fibers, and when pressed with your hand, they should be elastic and have a natural scent.
  • If you buy pre-packaged basa fish fillets, make sure to check the origin, packaging labels, and expiration date to avoid purchasing low-quality fish.

  • Prepare the Ingredients

    After purchasing the basa fish fillet, rinse it with diluted salt water and then rinse again with clean water, and let it drain. Wash the cilantro and let it drain.

    Add 4 minced garlic cloves, 2 chopped chilies, 1 teaspoon of pepper, and 2 tablespoons of fish sauce into a bowl, then stir well to make the fish sauce.

  • Fry the Fish

    Place a pan on the stove, add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. When the oil is hot, add the fish fillet and fry on low heat for about 5 minutes, flipping once.

    Wait for the fish to turn golden on both sides, scoop out some excess oil from the pan, then add the prepared fish sauce.

    Wait for the fish sauce to thicken and coat both sides of the fish, then adjust the seasoning to taste, turn off the heat, and arrange the fish on a plate. Garnish with cilantro for a beautiful presentation and enjoy.
