How to Choose Delicious Tofu

  • A good piece of tofu will have an ivory white color; if it has a yellowish or golden color, it contains gypsum. The more yellow the tofu, the more gypsum it has.
  • You should buy a piece of tofu that feels light, soft, and when cooked, has the fatty taste of soybeans, like the taste of cream.
  • Pure tofu has a characteristic aroma of soybeans. In contrast, if it contains gypsum, the tofu will have no smell or a slight lime scent.

How to Make Salted Fried Tofu

  • Prepare the tofu

    First, cut 5 pieces of tofu into small square pieces that are easy to eat.

    Next, roll all sides of the tofu pieces in a layer of cornstarch and then fry them until golden in an air fryer at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes.

  • Make salted fried tofu

    Heat a pan on the stove, once the pan is hot, add 1 cup (rice bowl) of breadcrumbs along with 1 teaspoon of vegetarian seasoning.

    After frying the breadcrumbs for about 5 minutes, turn off the heat and pour the toasted breadcrumbs into a bowl.

    Next, pour 1 tablespoon of cooking oil into the pan. When the oil is hot, add chopped green onions and sliced chili to sauté briefly until cooked.

    Then, add the tofu and breadcrumbs to stir-fry evenly. While stir-frying, shake to ensure the breadcrumbs coat the tofu evenly. Wait for about 10 minutes, then turn off the heat and serve the dish on a plate.
