Peanuts 500 gr Sugar 70 gr Shelled watermelon seeds 50 gr Strawberry syrup 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence 1/2 teaspoon

How to make Red Peanut Candy

  • Roast peanuts and watermelon seeds

    Place a pan on the stove, turn on low heat, add peanuts and stir constantly until the peanuts are cooked and fragrant, then turn off the heat. Pour the peanuts into a basket and let them cool.

    Add the shelled watermelon seeds into the pan and roast over low heat, stir quickly until you see the seeds puff up.

    After the peanuts cool, you peel and clean the shells, then put the peanuts into a mortar and grind them finely.

    To make the ground peanuts fluffier, you sift them into a bowl.

    Place a pan on the stove, add 70g of sugar, 50ml of water, turn on medium heat to cook the sugar until slightly thickened.

    Next, add the peanut powder and stir quickly until the powder combines into a smooth, sticky mass.

    After cooking, divide the peanut powder mixture into two; one half is taken out into a bowl for filling, and the other half remains in the pan for the shell.

    The peanut powder in the bowl is mixed evenly with roasted melon seeds.

    Next, take the peanut candy filling and place it on a sheet of parchment paper, shaping it into a long square.

    Wrap the filling tightly with parchment paper and place it in the refrigerator for about 5 – 10 minutes.

    Turn on the stove to medium heat, mix 1 teaspoon of strawberry syrup with the remaining peanut flour in the pan until even. Then add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla flavor, mix well, and turn off the stove.

  • Wrap and shape the red peanut candy

    Take the peanut candy shell and place it between two sheets of parchment paper, roll it thin.

    Take the filling out of the refrigerator, place it on top of the candy shell, and wrap it up so that the shell covers the filling.

    Wrap the candy bar tightly with parchment paper, store it in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to let the candy harden. When using, take the candy out and cut it into small bite-sized pieces.
