How to choose fresh and delicious frogs
- To choose good frogs, you should buy them from September onwards because this is when frog meat is the tastiest.
- When buying frogs, choose those with characteristics such as: bright eyes, slender heads and strong legs, bellies that are usually white or slightly yellow, skin that is either bright yellow or dark spots… are good frogs, firm meat.
- You should choose fat frogs, large in size and yellow skin, and the frogs should still be alive when purchased.
- Avoid buying frozen frogs as they usually have bland meat and lack the characteristic aroma when cooked.
How to Make Garlic Fried Frog

Prepare the frog
After buying the frog, remove the skin, eliminate all the intestines and blood vessels on the frog’s thighs, cut off the head and legs, then soak the frog in 2 spoons of white wine for about 5 minutes, then rinse with clean water and drain.
Next, use a knife to chop the frog into bite-sized pieces.

Fry the frog
Place a pan on the stove, add about 4 tablespoons of cooking oil, wait for the oil to heat up, then add all the prepared frog meat and fry on low heat for about 15 minutes until the frog is golden and crispy.
Next, scoop out some oil, leaving about 1/2 tablespoon of oil in the pan, then add the mixture of 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1/2 tablespoon of minced chili, and 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic to the fried frog and stir well for about 30 seconds, then turn off the heat.
