How to choose fresh ingredients
How to choose fresh, quality kimchi
- You should choose kimchi that has a natural orange-red color and when smelling it, you can immediately sense the distinctive aroma of kimchi.
- Fresh, quality kimchi is the type that, when tasted, has a blend of spicy, sweet, and salty flavors, and the napa cabbage remains crisp rather than mushy, tough, or showing signs of spoilage.
- Avoid choosing kimchi that has an unusually strong foul odor, as this could indicate that the kimchi has fermented for too long and is no longer usable.
- You can also choose pre-packaged and ready-made kimchi, but you need to pay attention to the origin, brand, expiration date printed on the packaging, and the external condition of the product.
- Additionally, you can make kimchi at home using a very simple recipe while still ensuring the authentic flavor of Korean kimchi provided by TasteVN.
How to choose fresh, good chicken eggs
- You should choose chicken eggs that have a dark brown shell, without any black spots, and when you touch the surface, you can feel the roughness, which indicates that it is fresh and good chicken eggs.
- Moreover, you can hold the egg up to your ear and shake it gently; if you hear a noise inside and the sound is loud, it indicates that the egg has been stored for too long, is spoiled, or is in the process of hatching. Conversely, if you hear no sound, it is a fresh chicken egg.
- Avoid choosing eggs that are pale in color, have many black spots, and feel smooth when touched, as these are eggs that have been stored for too long and are no longer fresh, which can affect the flavor of your dishes.
Where to buy seaweed and how to choose delicious seaweed
- You should choose seaweed pieces that are dark in color, not too large, and have a pleasant aroma.
