Ingredients for Lychee Jelly For 2 people

Lychee 500 gr Agar powder 10 gr (crunchy agar) Vanilla extract 1 tube Food coloring a little (yellow color) Sugar 250 gr

How to choose fresh delicious lychee

  • Good and ripe lychee will have a pink color, smooth spines, and when pressed will feel slightly soft and elastic.
  • Fresh lychee will have a light fragrant smell, while old or spoiled lychee will have an unusual smell, similar to fermentation.
  • When peeling, good lychee will have thick, soft, juicy white flesh that easily separates from the seed.
  • Avoid choosing lychee with many sharp spines as these are usually unripe and sour.

How to Make Lychee Jelly

  •  Prepare the Lychees

    Peel the lychees you bought, then use a spoon or knife to carefully remove the seed and keep the flesh of the lychee.

  • Cooking the Jelly

    Put a pot on the stove, add about 1.5 liters of filtered water into the pot, then pour in about 10 grams of agar powder and stir well until the powder completely dissolves in the water.

    Next, add 250 grams of sugar into the pot, turn on the stove to cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves. Add 1 – 2 drops of yellow food coloring and 1 vanilla tube for color and fragrance, then turn off the heat!

    You place the lychee into the mold, then pour in the prepared jelly mixture.

    After that, put the jelly mold in the refrigerator to freeze for about 30 minutes.
