Ingredients for Steamed Sticky Rice with Chinese Sausage For 4 people

Sticky rice 500 gr Chinese sausage 4 pieces Dried shredded pork 100 gr (dry shrimp) Fresh shiitake mushrooms a bit Shallots 1 bulb (fried fragrant) Garlic 2 bulbs (minced) Green onions a bit (chopped) Roasted peanuts a bit (crushed) Soy sauce 3 teaspoons Cooking oil 2 tablespoons Common spices a bit (Salt/ sugar/ seasoning powder/ monosodium glutamate/ ground pepper)

  • You should choose sausages with a thin outer casing made from pork intestines, without a greasy or strong oil smell, and the meat inside should be firm, smooth, and evenly colored.

  • Avoid buying sausages that are pale in color, feel slimy to the touch, are overly dry, and have a strange odor.

How to prepare Xôi ruốc lạp xưởng

  • Prepare the ingredients

    Wash the sticky rice thoroughly and soak it in warm water at 30 degrees Celsius for 4 hours to soften the rice. This way, it will cook faster.

    Next, place a pan on the stove and add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. When the oil is hot, add the finely chopped green onions to sauté until fragrant for serving.

    Fresh shiitake mushrooms should have their stems removed, washed clean, and then diced.

    Tip: To make the lạp xưởng sticky rice dish truly delicious, you need to choose fragrant sticky rice, particularly the yellow flower sticky rice, as this will make the steamed rice very appealing.

  • Stir-fry the filling

    After frying the lạp xưởng until cooked, let it drain from excess oil and then dice it.

    Next, lightly stir-fry the ruốc with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar.

    Then, place a pan on the stove, add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. When the oil is hot, add minced garlic to sauté until fragrant. Then add the lạp xưởng, shiitake mushrooms, and dried ruốc, stirring evenly on low heat to avoid burning.

    Continue by seasoning the pan with 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder, 3 teaspoons of soy sauce, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate, and 1 teaspoon of ground pepper. Stir-fry the mixture for about 3 minutes then turn off the heat.

  • Proceed to cook sticky rice with sausage

    After soaking for 4 hours, the rice is quite soft now, rinse the rice once more, then add 1 teaspoon of salt and mix well, marinate for about 10 minutes.

    After 10 minutes, mix the sticky rice with the stir-fried filling evenly and then steam for 40 minutes.
