  • Choose pineapples that have a bright yellow color from the crown to the tail. There may be a few eyes that are slightly green but still retain sweetness. The more uniformly yellow the pineapple, the sweeter it is.

  • When held, it should feel heavy, and pressing on the pineapple should not feel too hard or too soft.

  • Cutting Pineapple

    Peel the pineapple and remove the eyes, wash it clean, cut it in half, and then slice it into thin pieces.

  • Prepare the ingredients

    You can buy a whole pineapple and peel it yourself or buy a pre-peeled one. Clean the pineapple by removing all the eyes, then rinse it with water until clean, and cut it into round slices about 1.5cm thick. After cutting, blanch it in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then transfer it to a bowl.

    Next, add 500g of sugar to the bowl and mix well to coat the pineapple pieces with sugar. Let it marinate for about one night so that the pineapple absorbs the sugar; you can adjust the timing to suit your preparation.
