Tips for choosing good onions:

  • When buying onions, choose those with dry skins. Avoid choosing bulbs with fresh, peeling skins as they won’t taste good.
  • Pay attention to select bulbs that have green veins running inside. Avoid buying bulbs with vertical grooves along the body of the onion.

Tips for choosing good cucumbers:

  • When buying cucumbers, choose those that are green, bright, evenly colored, slightly curved, and without bruises or yellow spots.
  • Make sure to choose cucumbers that have smooth skins, feel firm to the touch, are elongated, and not rough.
  • Avoid buying cucumbers that bulge out, are large in the middle, or have a big head and a small tail.

Tips for choosing good green bell peppers:

  • For salads, select female bell peppers. These bell peppers will be softer and sweeter, making them more delicious.
  • Be sure to choose those with fresh stems, green skin, shiny appearance, and without blemishes or holes on the bell pepper.

The dish has some ingredients that are hard to find such as fresh olives, dried oregano, or feta cheese. You can find these items on e-commerce sites like Nam An, Shopee, or Lazada.

  • Prepare the ingredients

    Wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half.

    Peel the onion, slice it into thin pieces about 0.2mm thick. Then, put it into a bowl of water mixed with 1 tablespoon of vinegar to soak for 10 minutes to remove the sharp taste of the onion.

    Wash the cucumber, remove the stem, and cut it into small bite-sized pieces, about 0.5mm thick.

    Wash the bell pepper and slice it thinly, about 0.3mm thick.

    Wash the olives, remove the pits, and let them drain.

    Use a knife to cut the Feta cheese into small bite-sized cubes.

  • Make the salad dressing

    In a small bowl, combine 4 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of pepper, and 1 teaspoon of Oregano leaves. Stir well to complete the dressing.

    Put all the vegetables including tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions, and bell peppers into a small bowl. Drizzle the salad dressing evenly over the mixture and proceed to mix thoroughly.

    After mixing for about 1 minute, you can add a bit of Feta cheese on top and enjoy this dish right away.
