How to choose fresh ingredients
How to choose fresh shrimp
- Choose shrimp that have a natural, even color and no strange smell.
- The tail of the shrimp should be slightly curled and feel firm to the touch. If the tail is curled and soft, it indicates that the shrimp is spoiled and should not be purchased.
- Avoid selecting shrimp with overly tight backs and expanded segments, as these may have been treated with chemicals and are unsafe.
How to choose fresh star fruit
- Choose star fruit that is just ripe, fresh, crispy, without bruised edges, and free from dark spots or dents.
- Avoid buying overripe star fruit as it will become mushy and unappetizing when cooked.
