How to prepare Grilled Salmon with Satay

  • Prepare the salmon

    After purchasing the salmon, wash it thoroughly with water, scrape off the scales, gently rub salt on the fish, then rinse with clean water and cut into two equal pieces.

    How to clean salmon effectively:

    • If you buy a whole salmon to prepare it as fillets, you should clean the fish by gutting it and removing all the internal organs.
    • Then use a very sharp knife, keeping the blade close to the backbone to cut off as much salmon meat as possible easily. Next, scrape the scales and pull the skin tightly, then cut off the skin from the tail to the belly of the fish.
    • Use a knife or tweezers to remove all the bones still left in the meat. Finally, cut into bite-sized pieces and prepare for cooking.
    • You can soak the fish in alcohol (or vinegar) mixed with a little crushed ginger for 7 – 10 minutes to remove the fishy smell.

    Use aluminum foil to cover the grilling rack, place two pieces of fish on the rack, and evenly sprinkle 1.5 teaspoons of salt and 1.5 teaspoons of seasoning. Use your hands to gently rub both sides of the fish to help the meat absorb the spices better.

    Place the fish rack in the oven, adjust the temperature to 190 degrees Celsius, and grill the fish for about 20 minutes.
