Pork ribs 600 gr Green pepper 20 gr Minced garlic 2 tablespoons Pepper 1 teaspoon Honey 2 tablespoons Oyster sauce 2 tablespoons Seasoning powder 1 tablespoon Soy sauce 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh ribs should have a light pink color, feel elastic when pressed, and should not have a sour smell.
  • Choose ribs with small and flat bones. This type of rib has more meat and less bone compared to larger, round ribs.
  • For grilled dishes, you should choose ribs that have both lean meat and fat to make them softer, more fragrant, and richer when eaten.
  • Do not choose ribs that smell bad, have a bluish-pink color, are slimy, and do not bounce back when pressed with your hand.

How to prepare Grilled Pork Ribs with Green Pepper

  • Prepare the pork ribs

    After buying the pork ribs, soak them in diluted saltwater or briefly blanch them in boiling water to clean off dirt and eliminate odors, then rinse thoroughly with water and let them drain.

    Tips for cleaning pork ribs effectively without odor:

    • Rub the ribs with salt for about 2 – 3 minutes and rinse with water.
    • Using rice vinegar or alcohol to wash will also help remove the odor from the ribs.
    • You can also briefly boil the ribs in boiling water with a few smashed ginger slices, then rinse with water.

  • Prepare the green pepper

    The green pepper should be cleaned, drained, then smashed or crushed to enhance the aroma when marinating the ribs.

  • Marinate the ribs

    You marinate the ribs with 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of seasoning, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 teaspoon of pepper, 2 tablespoons of minced garlic, and green pepper.

    Next, you wear plastic gloves to rub the seasoning until it dissolves and evenly penetrates the rib pieces, and you let it marinate for 3 hours.

    You wrap the rib piece in aluminum foil, put the rib into the air fryer, and grill at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.

    After the time is up, you open the air fryer, take the rib out of the foil, place the rib into the frying tray, and grill at a temperature of 160 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

    Tip for you:
    • When finished cooking, you should wait a moment for the heat to subside before removing the frying tray.
    • If after the second grilling you find the ribs are not golden as you desire, you can grill them an additional 2 – 3 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius.

  • Preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes at a temperature of 100 to 150 degrees Celsius before cooking to stabilize the temperature inside the fryer, helping the food cook more evenly.
  • Depending on the amount of food, whether it is thick or thin, you can adjust the temperature and cooking time accordingly for the air fryer. You can refer to the suggested cooking times and temperatures provided on the air fryer or in the manual that comes with it during the first use.
