Rice paper 200 gr Ground pork 300 gr Shrimp 200 gr Green onions 50 gr (chopped) Minced ginger 10 gr Minced garlic 5 gr Cornstarch 1 teaspoon Lemon 1/4 fruit Chili sauce 1/2 teaspoon Satay chili 1/2 teaspoon Salt 1/2 teaspoon Sugar 1 teaspoon Soy sauce 1 tablespoon Sesame oil 1 teaspoon

How to prepare Dumplings with rice paper

  • Mix shrimp and meat filling

    First, peel and remove the heads of the shrimp, rinse briefly with diluted salt water, wash again with clean water, drain, and cut into small pieces.

    Next, add in a bowl 300g of minced pork, 200g of shrimp, 50g of chopped green onions, 10g of minced ginger, 5g of minced garlic along with the seasonings: 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, and mix well. Let the mixture absorb the seasonings for about 10 minutes.

  • Wrap the dumplings

    Place the rice paper on a clean flat surface like a cutting board, dampen the rice paper with a little water to soften it. Then, scoop a moderate amount of filling and start wrapping the dumpling.

    Tip: You can wrap the dumplings in various shapes, depending on your preference and skill!

  • Steam the dumplings

    First, add water to the steamer pot to bring it to a boil. Then, brush a little cooking oil on the bottom of the steamer and arrange the dumplings inside.

    When the water is boiling, place the steamer into the pot to steam the dumplings for about 7 – 9 minutes.

  • Make the dipping sauce

    In a bowl, combine: 1 tablespoon of water, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, the juice of 1/4 lemon, 1/2 teaspoon of chili sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon of satay chili, and mix well.

  • Final product

    Dumplings made with rice paper look just like those made with flour, as there is a translucent layer that allows you to see the filling inside.

    The dumplings are chewy, combined with the sweet crunch of shrimp and minced pork, dipped in a bit of savory and spicy soy sauce. This is an ideal snack for any member of your family.
