How to make Mango Sticky Rice with Pandan Leaves
-
Soak and cook the sticky rice
First, place the sticky rice in a large bowl or pot.
Next, pour enough water to cover the sticky rice in the bowl and soak for 5 – 6 hours.
After soaking, rinse the sticky rice again and drain it.
Put a pot of water on the stove and cook over medium heat. When the water boils, place the steamer containing the sticky rice and steam for about 45 minutes until the rice is cooked.
When the sticky rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl or plate.
-
Cook the pandan coconut milk
Add 150ml of coconut milk, 130gr of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt into a pot.
Cook the coconut milk mixture over low heat and continuously stir until the sugar dissolves.
Add 45ml of squeezed pandan juice and stir until the ingredients are well combined, then turn off the heat.
-
Mix pandan sticky rice
You pour the freshly cooked pandan coconut milk into the bowl of cooked sticky rice.
Use a spoon or chopsticks to mix thoroughly so that the coconut milk is evenly absorbed into the rice.
Next, cover the bowl of sticky rice tightly with foil and let it rest for 20 minutes.
-
Make fresh milk sauce
You add 2 tablespoons of rice flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 400ml of unsweetened fresh milk into a pot and stir well.
You cook the milk sauce over low heat, continuously stirring for about 3 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

The mango sticky rice dish is now complete! Quickly cut a piece of fragrant “aromatic” mango to enjoy with it! Place the sticky rice on the plate, gently drizzle with fresh milk sauce, sprinkle some roasted peanuts on top, and add the sliced mango beside it to enjoy.
