How to choose fresh and delicious aloe vera

  • You should choose aloe vera branches of moderate size, avoiding small branches as they contain very little flesh.
  • Buy aloe vera branches that have a uniform green color, intact skin, not bruised, and when you gently press the skin with your hand, it feels crunchy.
  • Avoid buying aloe vera branches that look dry, lack vitality, with the skin gradually turning light yellow, and the sharp spines becoming dry.
  • Do not choose aloe vera branches that lack elasticity, have a foul smell, or are leaking water as they may be spoiled.

How to prepare Aloe Vera Lemon Tea

  • Prepare Aloe Vera

First, cut the aloe vera about 1 hand span from the root, then place the aloe vera on a piece of paper or cloth to let all the yellow sap drain out.

Next, cut the aloe vera into several small pieces and put them in a basin of water. Continue to peel off the outer skin to separate the flesh.

Then, chop the aloe vera into small pieces and rinse thoroughly with water 4 – 5 times. After that, mix the aloe vera with 2 – 3 tablespoons of sugar and rinse again until the outer surface is no longer slimy.

Finally, briefly blanch the aloe vera in hot water for about 10 seconds, rinse with cold water once more, and let it drain.

Tips for preparing non-bitter aloe vera
    • To ensure that the juice is not bitter and to maintain health, you need to peel off all the green skin.
Method 1: Peel the skin, cut the aloe vera into small pieces, then soak them in a mixture of salt and lemon, then take them out, rinse with clean water, and marinate with sugar.
    • Method 2: After peeling and cutting the aloe vera into small pieces, rinse them with salt, then briefly blanch and soak them again in cold water and marinate with sugar.
