How to make mooncake jelly with green tea filling

  • Making the green tea filling

    Add 2g of green tea powder and 60ml of boiling water into a bowl and stir well, let it sit for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, strain to take the clear liquid on top.

    Add 2g of jelly powder and 150ml of water into a new bowl, stir well, and place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

    Place a pot on the stove, add the jelly mixture and stir continuously over medium heat until boiling, the mixture becomes clear.

    Next, add 20g of rock sugar, continue stirring until the sugar dissolves. Finally, add the green tea water and stir for another 3 minutes.

  • Transfer the green tea filling mixture to a jar

    Next, scoop the green tea mixture into a jar, cover it, and place it in the refrigerator for 2 hours to set.

  • Make coconut milk

    Put 70g of grated coconut into a bowl, then pour in 70ml of water just enough to cover the surface and let it sit for 10 minutes.

    After that, strain the mixture through a sieve, squeeze to extract the coconut milk, and let it sit for another 10 minutes. Next, pour the clear liquid into a new bowl, discarding the sediment at the bottom.

  • Pour the jelly

    Put 200ml of water and 13g of jelly powder into a bowl, then stir well and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

    Place a pot on the stove, add the soaked jelly mixture, and 800ml of water, then stir well until boiling, and the mixture turns clear.

    Next, add 150g of rock sugar and stir until dissolved. Pour the jelly mixture into a bowl, then place this bowl in a basin of hot water.

  • Stir the jelly with condensed milk

    Next, add 15g of condensed milk, 70ml of unsweetened fresh milk, and 70ml of coconut milk into a bowl and stir well to combine.

  • Make the mooncake

    Pour the milk jelly into 1/3 of the mold and let it sit until the surface of the jelly firms up. Next, place the green tea filling in the center, and use a toothpick to poke around the milk jelly.

    Finally, fill the mold with another layer of jelly to complete it, and place it in the refrigerator for 2 hours to be ready to use.
