  • Avoid plums that have a smooth, shiny skin but lack the powdery coating, as they are often treated with chemicals.

  • You should choose lemons that are medium-sized, with bright yellow skin, and have a characteristic fragrant smell when sniffed.
  • Good yellow lemons usually have a rather hard skin, glossy surface, and when pressed, oil droplets shoot out.
  • Do not choose lemons that are light yellow or too dark in color as these are unripe or old lemons.
  • Lemons that are soft, with strange black spots on the skin are spoiled and should not be used.

How to make Plum Punch

  • Prepare and cook plums

    After buying, wash the plums, cut them in half, and remove the seeds inside.

    Wash the apples, mint stems, and leaves, then drain. Dice the apples.

    Put 2 cups of water into a pot, then add the plums, mint stems, 5 mint leaves, and 3 teaspoons of sugar, then turn on the stove and boil on high heat for about 5 – 7 minutes.

    When the plums are soft, turn off the heat and let the mixture cool for about 1 hour.

  • Mash the plums

    When the plums have cooled, remove the mint leaves, peel off the plum skin, then use a hand blender or put the plums in a blender and puree.

  • Mash lemon and mint

    Wash the yellow-skinned lemon, cut it into 4 pieces and put it in a mortar with 10 mint leaves, 2 teaspoons of sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt, using a pestle to crush the ingredients.

  • Mix the plum juice

    Add 60ml of lime juice, 120ml of orange juice, and all of the crushed plum juice into the lime and mint mixture.

    Stir well, then pour into a glass, add ice cubes, diced apples, and garnish with a few slices of plum on top, and you can enjoy it.
